Mr. Havens has attended 7 conferences on social justice. He has had the honor of speaking before 30 different groups including highschoolers, social workers, teachers, church attendees, law students at LSU, and other people from all walks of life. He has advocated for 5 anti-human trafficking bills. He has traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with Louisiana politicians to rally support for the anti-trafficking bills. He has spoken in front of a Louisiana House of Representatives committee in Baton Rouge. He has led and helped with many awareness and fundraising campaigns all across the city, including Operation Hope's: We Hold the Key to Freedom Walk & Seminar held in the Lake Charles area. He currently is on the Lead Team for Louisiana's IJM Advocacy Group, has been featured in an International Justice Mission article and is over his own anti-trafficking organization SWLA Abolitionists.. He believes that human trafficking will end and that every person has a part to play.

Laura Aranda first became aware of human trafficking in her area four years ago and wanted to somehow make a difference.
